Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment
Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment is offered in each district using state adjudication standards. An ensemble consists of 2-16 singers. Soloists and ensembles will perform unconducted, from memory, two selections for one judge in a closed setting.
Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment Checklist:
1 "Must Know" Info: Print and study P-11 as well as Sections II, IV, V, and VI of the Standing Rules from the AVA Handbook for specific information regarding every aspect of Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessments.
2 Solo and Ensemble Registration: Mail your Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment Packet by the deadline to your District Chair (see deadline and address below). Include these items in your registration packet:
- Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment Registration form F20 (and F20a if needed)
- school check or signed school Purchase Order
- a copy of your MENC card
- Please add a $50.00 late fee if mailing after the deadline.
3 Solo and Ensemble Performance Assessment : District Chairs will contact directors with schedule information after they receive the complete District application and schedule all of the District choirs. Directors need to present the following when they register at the District site:
- 1 copy of the F21 Performance Assessment Adjudication form for EACH ENSEMBLE and 1 copy of the F22 Vocal Solo Performance Assessment Adjudication form for EACH SOLOIST, with your info complete at the top of each form
- 1 clean, original copy of each music selection with measures numbered for the judges
